organize the “ Extreme DUO“ Mountain bike race

This is THE International Mountain Bike race which is organized for the
Mountain Bikers that demand a longer route with lots of obstacles and adventure in it.
This race is for the REAL Mountain Biker
The route covers 66 kilometers through the “mondi”
of the western part of Curacao and can take between 3 and 5 hours to complete.
Teams must consist of 2 persons to compete.
- You must present on sunday before 6:30 A.M.
- Race starts at 7 A.M.
- Take enough water along as the race takes between 3 and 5 hours. Your body needs 3.5 to 4 liters of water. Some light food is also needed.
- There will be various control posts with water and Gatorade.
- Take at least 2 spare tubes with slime, as well as a pump, spare links for your chain, some tools and your mobile phone.
This race is tough on your bike. Make sure it is in good shape before the race.
It is recommended that you explore the route and train it well as it takes you through lots of mud, salt pans, dirt roads, single trails, large stones, small bridges and rocky climbs and descends.
There is only one category. Men, women or mixed teams can participate.
The Route:
Start/finish : “GIRO Bank” ,Jan Noorduinweg ,77 shopping Center (follow the signs)
Route : Start at GIRO Bank in the direction of Julianadorp, left Parallelweg, left Rondeweg. Cross the road and take the dirt road past the football field Maracana into the direction of Blue Bay Resort. Take the asphalt road to Boca Sami, past the dive school of Wederfoort, through the saltpans and onto the asphalt road. Cross over the road to Bullenbay, through Mal Pais and again onto the road to Bullenbay. Take a right just before Bullenbay and take the dirt road that leads to the main asphalt road to Willibrordus.
1“ Control post” + water
At the saltpans of Jan Kok take a left turn past the flamingo’s to the water entrance of the saltpans. Go across the large pipe, past the sea to the gate of Habitat. Follow the signs which take you to the church of Willibrordus.
2“ Control post” + water
Take the direction of Porto Marie, through the single trail till the main asphalt road to Soto.
3” Control post” + water
Go left untill you almost reach San Juan. Take the road on the right towards Dokterstuin. Take a right and again left at Pal’i Maishi”
4 “Control post” + last water post
Go alongside the fence into the direction of Plastic Bay and onto the San Pedro flats. Past the cows, Hato Free zone, climb the asphalt road past Seru Kandela past the Zegu roundabout, past the traffic lights of Julianadorp towards the finish.
This is THE race of the year. 66 Kilometers through the “mondi” of Banda Bou.
It is recommended to train together with your partner. Both partners MUST finish the race.
The time of the last one in counts.
Choose a partner who likes an adventure and start training early.
